What is Rose Rock Strings?

We are a group of string players that teach, perform, and create together in various different capacities. We have known one another and performed together in chamber and symphonic settings for at least a decade.

The group was officially created due to the high volume of weddings, parties, and other events we were being booked for. Rather than forming groups ad hoc, we decided to join musical forces and became what is now known as Rose Rock Strings.

Rose Rock Strings consists of two string quartets (or is otherwise known as a string octet). With this number of musicians, we can be flexible with your schedule needs and have the capability to form duos, trios, quartets, and more.

*The traditional configuration of the string quartet, as formed in the Classical Era, is two violins, one viola, and one cello.

Quick FAQs

  • Please start by reaching out to us (click the “Contact Us” button at the top of the page). Let us know the date and type of event in addition to other relevant details, and we will get back in touch of you to consult with you and create a plan to be used on the day of your event.

-Administrative coordination: This includes contacting, communicating details to musicians, scheduling, as well as finding, choosing, and organizing music for the event. Initial consultations are free of charge.

-One outside rehearsal for preparation of the event

-All music during the ceremony (prelude, processions, any music during, postlude)

NOTE: For events lasting longer than 1.5 hours, you will be charged for the extra time in half hour increments.

  • Yes. Travel within a 30 mile radius of midtown Tulsa is free. Charges will begin outside of the 30 miles.

  • Yes. Keep in mind that the outdoors are subject to many variables, and stringed instruments are delicate. Wind, heat, humidity all may affect the bow, the instrument itself, the tuning, and sound. When we perform outdoors, we are putting ourselves at the mercy of Mother Nature!

We typically should not play in direct sunlight, especially on particularly warm days. It’s advised that the ensemble does not play in temperatures below 60F or over 95F.

  • Choosing music is always a fun and deeply personal process. If there is a specific song(s) or piece(s) that you would like performed at your event that we do not already have access to, we may either:

    • Purchase the music ourselves. This allows us to determine if the arrangement is playable and meets our standards.

    • Create our own arrangement.

Please note that purchasing of new music that is not commonly performed may require reimbursement. Additionally, having any music arranged will require extra time (at least 60 days) and will be an extra fee.

Purchasing of new music or having any music arranged typically applies to pieces that are outside of the classical repertoire. It is far easier for string ensembles to obtain music that exists within the classical canon. If it is a pop piece, we are absolutely happy to accommodate; these are just the factors to consider!
